Do you ever receive text messages or emails with abbreviations you don't understand?

Me 2! IDK what they mean sometimes. SMH

LMK if you C any more.


ASAP = as soon as possible

BTW = by the way (incidentally)

B/C = because

CU = See you.

CUL8R = See you later.

DM = direct message (private message)

ETA = estimated time of arrival

ETD = estimated time of departure

FWD = forward

FYI = for your information

GR8 = great

IDK = I don't know.

IMHO = in my humble opinion

JK = Just kidding.

K = OK (Yes, even OK has an abbreviation!) (SMH)

L8R = later

LMK = Let me know.

LOL = laughing out loud (this used to mean Lots of Love, so it causes problems for the older folks like me - LOL)

SMH = Shaking my head. (I think this is silly, stupid or ridiculous.)

TBH = to be honest

THX = thanks

PLS or PLZ = please

PM = private message

TTYL = talk to you later

U2 = You too.

Y = Why?

YOLO = You only live once.

XOXO = hugs and kisses (In the UK - x = kiss (or - xx, xxx, xxxx)
