Also referred to as "trade union" or "labour union". Examples: The rail workers union called for the workers to go on strike to force the CEO to raise salaries.
The teaches unions are suing the Governors of the states to demand that schools start later in the year due to COVID-19. This is in the interests of the teachers, students and all connected with schools. Idiom: He's as cool as a cucumber.
